Dear Family and Friends,
Welcome to our website, we want you to wish you all God’s Blessing as we celebrate the Birth of our Savior and King, Jesus Christ.  Much has happened this past year both joyous and sad but we trust in our God and know that he loves all of us so very much. He loves us so much that he sent His one and only Son, born of a woman, both fully man and fully God, so that any of us who trust in Jesus, his death for us on the cross and his resurrection will have eternal life.  Imagine, two thousand years ago the God of the universe, who spoke and all things came into existence, humbled himself and took on the form of a servant and was obedient to His Father to the extent of willingly becoming our sacrificial lamb in order to take our sins and give us his righteousness.  This truly is the manifestation of God’s love.
Our sad news was the passing of our brother-in-law Butch.  Butch was married to Brian’s sister Amy for over 40 years and the father of two daughters, Laurie and Leanne.  The last years for Butch and Amy were pretty tough but Butch was blessed with a granddaughter, Julia, and he had the opportunity to know and enjoy her.  We thank God for knowing and loving Butch and we will remember him always.
Both Brian and Yoko kept busy this year; Brian at Spelman College where God provided a great job (he gets paid for doing something he loves to do!) and Yoko taught her Tuesday Seiken Bible study, was active in the Hanamizuki ladies group, and tried to be an encouragement to all she met(she doesn’t get paid for doing what she loves to do, at least in $).   Brian’s other activities included helping to build a Quonset hut at a mission in West Virginia, installing a chairlift for a family in our church and editing and uploading the weekly sermons to our church web page.  If you would like to see the fruits of my labor connect to

(I don’t do the web development just provide the audio material).
Were blessed this year with the Birth of our fifth grandchild.  Naomi gave birth to baby Eden in August.  When we went to visit we thought we were going to see Naomi’s baby but Kamea, Eden’s older sister, explained that we were meeting her  baby! Both Naomi and Erik are working at the hospital in Conway, SC and they really enjoy their life in Myrtle Beach.
Naomi had some complications with Eden and had to stay off her feet for a number of months before the baby’s birth.  Fortunately Jenny, who graduated from Masseuse school this year, went to Myrtle Beach to live and work and was able to be of great assistance to Naomi.  Jenny is doing well as a masseuse and is currently working in Vail, Colorado for the winter months.
Johnny spent most of the year in Germany, training, cleaning equipment, training, cleaning equipment, the typical army things.  At the end of November though his unit returned to the Middle East, first to Kuwait where they unloaded and prepared their equipment for transport.  He is now somewhere in Iraq.  He called and told us that his original assigned location was being changed and he would be going to another location(we still don’t know where).  He is always in our prayers and we would appreciate your praying for God’s hand of protection on him.
Tom and Mimi are doing well.  Tom is still with the Cobb County, GA police, Mimi is working as a caseworker at a mental hospital.  Our oldest granddaughter, Jordan, is now 14 years old and in the eighth grade.  She is lovely and talented and learning to play the piano and violin.  Cullen is 10 and in the fourth grade.  He really likes reading, is good in science and has recently started playing the guitar and is doing very well.  Sean is a very energetic 4 year old and is a real talker - perhaps he’ll grow up to be a lawyer!  He is fun to be with and makes some really interesting observations.
Regardless of where you stand politically the election of the first Black American to the office of President is a great milestone in our countries history.  Why he would want that job is the real question - he’s inherited a bunch of problems from a number of former presidents but the ball is now in his court and we need to uphold him in prayer.
Please continue on to our Photos page and step through 2008 with us and before you leave please click on our Guest Book and let us know of your visit.
Thank you and God Bless and keep you throughout all of 2009!
